Entrance into Wal-Mart in Bradenton temporarily closed

A truck that hit a signal pole on Cortez Road West has caused the main entrance into Wal-Mart to be closed off.

“Over the weekend, a truck hit the signal pole and did some damage,” Robin Stublen, Florida Department of Transportation spokesman, said. “Until we get the new pole in, we are setting up something temporary.”

A vehicle hit the signal pole at Cortez Road and Cape Vista Drive right outside the Wal-Mart, 5315 Cortez Rd. W., Bradenton.

“A temporary pole will be installed until a permanent replacement is constructed,” said Lauren Hatchell, a public information officer. “Once the temporary pole is installed, the signals will be fully operational and no longer in flash mode. Turn lane closures on Cortez Road and Cape Vista are in effect until the temporary pole is installed.”

Manatee County and FDOT are coordinating the repairs, according to Hatchell.
