Interim minister named at Longboat Island Chapel
The Rev. Bill Friederich has been named interim minister at Longboat Island Chapel, 6200 Gulf of Mexico Drive, Longboat Key.
He replaces a senior minister, the Rev. Vincent Carroll, who retires July 1.
Friederich has begun conducting the 10 a.m. Sunday worship services and full ministerial duties at the chapel.
Friederich became minister of music last year and has been an active member of the church and choir providing percussion instrumentation in addition to assisting in worship services and special musical events.
He is a graduate of Wheaton Graduate School in Chicago and Bangor Theological Seminary in Bangor, Maine.
He has served churches in Illinois, Maine, Germany and Florida.
Music and the arts are interests he plans to incorporate more fully into worship programs, according to a press release.
He is married to the former Bah Hero.
