Tornado warning issued for east central Manatee County

A tornado warning has been issued for east central Manatee County.

The National Weather Service issued the warning until 12:45 p.m. Tuesday.

At 12:15 p.m., “a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 7 miles north of Myakka City,” according to the warning. The system is moving northeast at 15 miles per hour.

The thunderstorm is expected to “remain over mainly rural areas of west central Hardee and east central Manatee counties,” according to the warning.
