Gas prices in Bradenton-Sarasota rose last week; still lowest in recent years
Bradenton-Sarasota gas prices rose 3 cents per gallon in the last week, bringing the area average to $2.17 per gallon. This coincides with the national average hike also of 3 cents per gallon.
Even recent average gas prices in the Sarasota-Bradenton area have been historically high for May 31: in 2015 a gallon cost $2.63 and customers shelled out $3.62 per gallon in 2014.
Tampa prices have gone up 2.6 cents per gallon, bringing the average to $2.13. Cape Coral is seeing just a 2.5 cent increase, making their average $2.15. Yet across the country, gas prices are at their lowest in 11 years.
