FHP: School bus driver cited in crash; no injuries reported

A school bus driver was cited for making an improper left turn in a crash at 4:18 p.m. Friday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

According to a release, 33-year-old Joseph Mojica of Bradenton was northbound in a school bus on Rosalyn Avenue approaching a curve while a woman in a Hyundai Elantra was southbound approaching the curve.

When Mojica tried to turn left, FHP troopers reported the female driver stopped before entering the curve. The left rear tire and rim of the school bus struck the front left bumper of the Hyundai Elantra.

Fifteen students on the bus were uninjured, troopers reported.
