New traffic signal in Parrish begins operation Tuesday
A new traffic signal at U.S. 301 and Fort Hamer Road will begin operation Tuesday.
Signs were posted approaching the intersection from both directions on U.S. 301 saying “traffic signal flash activated Tuesday May 31” to notify motorists.
The new traffic signal is part of an entire intersection project, which cost $4.45 million.
“The entire intersection project, realignment, turn lanes and the connector roadway have increased roadway capacity, enhanced safety and provided needed access onto U.S. 301,” Sage Kamiya, deputy director of traffic management, said in August of the project.
