Man, 18, hurt in Lakewood Ranch crash
MANATEE -- An 18-year-old Lakewood Ranch man was critically injured early Friday, when he crashed his car in Lakewood Ranch.
About 3:55 a.m., the man, who was driving a BMW 328i, was heading northbound on Arnold Palmer Green near Vilamoura Place, when he traveled across the southbound lanes, hit a curb and then struck several signs and a bush, according to Florida Highway Patrol
According to the release, the driver continued in a northwesterly direction, striking several bushes, then a stop sign. The driver then struck a concrete sign and rotated in a counter clockwise direction. Troopers said the driver came to a final rest on the north shoulder of Vilamoura Place in the grass, facing a westerly direction.
The driver was transported to Tampa General Hospital and is listed in critical condition, according to the report.
The crash remains under investigation.
