East Manatee Republican Club to meet

MANATEE -- Angel Colenneso, candidate for re-election to clerk of Manatee County Circuit Court, and Dave Miner, chairman of the Central Florida Public School Boards Coalition and a member of the Manatee County School Board, will speak before the East Manatee Republican Club meeting starting at 11:30 a.m. May 12.

Lunch costs $16.

Florida Highway Patrol schedules wolfpack

BRADENTON -- The Florida Highway Patrol, North District, will conduct a DUI wolfpack detail from 10 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday in Sarasota, Manatee, DeSoto, Hardee and Highlands county.

Troopers conducting the detail will be mobile, monitoring traffic, in an effort to maximize their visibility and effectiveness in removing impaired drivers from the roadways.
