Manatee County to issue boil water notice for Tuesday in Holmes Beach
MANATEE -- The Manatee County Utilities Department has issued a precautionary boil water notice for customers on Sunrise Lane, 52nd Street from Gulf Drive to the Intercoastal Waterway from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesday. This includes the Tidemark Plaza.
The notice is for the replacement of water valves, according to a release. Once service is restored, the department advises customers that all water used for drinking or cooking should be boiled as a precaution.
"A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient," the release states. "As an alternative, bottled water may be used."
According to the department, the notice will remain in effect until a bacteriological survey has shown the water to be safe, which is normally 24-48 hours. A rescission notice will be issued when lifted.
Anyone with questions is encouraged to call 941-792-8811 ext. 5268 between 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. or 941-747-HELP after 5 p.m. or on weekends.
