Sheriff officials to appear at forum

MANATEE -- Sheriff Brad Steube and sheriff candidate Col. Rick Wells will speak at the Manatee Forum beginning at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Renaissance on 9th.

Steube is retiring after this year's election, and Wells, currently the No. 2 official at the sheriff's office, is running to succeed him.

Dinner costs $22.

Speakers begin at 6:30 p.m.

Autism Resource Expo in Sarasota coming March 5

SARASOTA -- Face Autism, a nonprofit organization serving families with children with autism in Manatee and Sarasota counties, is holding its fifth-annual Autism Resource Expo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 5 at Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School, 4171 Fruitville Road, Sarasota.

The expo will provide information on available resources for education, support, therapies and products pertaining to autism spectrum disorders.

Face Autism has registered more than 40 local organization. Richards Foodporium and Ener-G- foods will provide product samples.

Attendance is free and there is a play area for children.
