MANATEE -- A chilly Manatee County night Saturday is expected to give way to an even chillier Sunday, according to Bay News 9 meteorologist Josh Linker.

Linker said he expected the wind to shift to the north allowing clearer skies to settle in with colder temps and overnight numbers in the high 30s to low 40s.

Sunshine and less wind will be in place for Sunday with highs staying chilly in the mid-50s.

There is a small craft advisory for Tampa Bay and a gale warning for the Gulf of Mexico.

A high surf advisory for the coastal areas carries dangerous rip currents, Linker said.

Winds gusting over 30 mph makes boating dangerous and driving across Bay Area bridges difficult.

Travelers are advised to check for flight delays and cancellations.
