County to fill three openings on Manatee County Public Library Board of Trustees
MANATEE -- Manatee County is accepting applications for the three vacancies on the Manatee County Public Library Board of Trustees.
Applications to serve on the board, which makes recommendations to the county commission, are due Jan. 8.
The library board is "responsible for creating and recommending policy for the operation of the Library System to the Board of County Commissioners," according to a news release.
The openings are:
A representative for the city of Bradenton, who is appointed by the city council. Applicants must be a city resident.
A representative for the city of Palmetto, who is appointed by the city council. Applicants must be a city resident.
A representative of the island communities, who is appointed by the county commission after consideration of any recommendations made by the island cities. Applicants must reside in 34209, 34216, 34217 or 34228.
Applications can be found at mymanatee.org/advisory_boards and completed applicants can be sent to lorrie.see@mymanatee.org.
Appointments are for four year terms and the board typically meets at 2:45 p.m. the third Thursday of each month at the Central Library, 1301 Barcarrota Blvd. W., Bradenton.
