School superintendent Diana Greene to address East Manatee Republican Club

E. Manatee GOP Club will hear from superintendent

PERIDIA -- The East Manatee Republican Club will meet at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 14 at the Peridia Golf and Country Club, 4950 Peridia Blvd. E. for luncheon. Lunch costs $16.

Guest speaker is Diana Greene, superintendent of schools in Manatee County.

Sarasota author releases 'John Ringling's Mouse Mansion'

SARASOTA -- Young readers will be entertained by the colorful characters in author Lee Moran's new children's book, "John Ringling's Mouse Mansion," be available nationwide this week.

"John Ringling's Mouse Mansion" is the story of John Ringling and the importance of a life. Characters such as Angelina and Joseppi, who are from a faraway land, now live in the Asolo Theater.

Moran is a retired quality assurance engineer from Lockheed Martin, who lives in Sarasota. The author is a former policeman, elected town selectman, civil defense director and a pipefitter, who has worked on the Alaskan pipeline.

His recently published books include "The Unexpected Patriot" and "The Search for Hickory Dickery Dock's Clock."
