Cool front gives Manatee County chill weekend
MANATEE -- A front moved south Friday afternoon into Manatee County and cooler air rushed into the region right on schedule.
Skies will clear out overnight with temperatures dropping into the 40s in Manatee County.
Saturday will start out cold and sunny with high temperatures topping out in the 60s.
"That's still below average but it will be a big change compared with the warm weather Manatee County has seen lately," said Bay News 9 meteorologist Diane Kacmarik.
Winds will remain strong, making it feel cooler.
"Saturday night will be chilly, but not quite as cold with ... Tampa southward areas near 50," she forecast
Sunday will be a gorgeous day with mostly sunny skies and highs getting back to the low to mid-70s.
"We will be back into the low to mid-80s as we head toward Christmas next week," she said.
Highs for Christmas Eve will be in the low to mid-80s. The sky will feature a mix of sun and clouds and there is a chance for an isolated shower in the afternoon.
A small craft advisory remains in effect for the Gulf waters through Saturday.
