SCF Foundation Sundays to present Glenn Miller
BRADENTON -- The second installment of the 2015-16 State College of Florida Foundation's Sundays at Neel series will feature the Glenn Miller Orchestra at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17, at SCF Bradenton in Neel Performing Arts Center, 5840 26th St. W.
Tickets are $35 and can be purchased at the Neel box office or by calling 941-752-5252.
The Glenn Miller Orchestra was formed in 1956. The group has played an average of 300 dates each year around the world making it the longest touring big band in history. The orchestra consists of music director Nick Hilscher, five saxophone players, four trumpeters, four trombonists, three rhythm musicians on piano, bass and drums, and a male and female vocalist.
The Glenn Miller Orchestra will perform its signature "Moonlight Serenade," "Chattanooga Choo Choo," "In the Mood" and lesser-known tunes including "Rainbow Rhapsody," "The White Cliffs of Dover" and "That's Sabotage."
Individual tickets to any concert in the series are $30 or $35; a six-show subscription is $126. Upcoming concerts include The Brothers Four on Jan. 24 and Buddy (Holly) and Beyond on Feb. 14.

MTC will offer certified professional coder exam
BRADENTON -- Manatee Technical College has been approved by the AAPC as a test site for the certified Professional coder exam.
The CPC certification is a nationally recognized certification for medical coders in physician's offices and other health care settings.
The AAPC was formerly known as the American Academy of Professional Coders.
Manatee Technical College offers an adult career certificate program in medical coder biller.
