Manatee Forum Christmas party is set for Tuesday
MANATEE -- The Manatee Forum Christmas party will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Renaissance on 9th.
Dinners costs $22 for salad, entree and dessert.
A $15 limit is set on gifts for the annual exchange.
Kirby Stewart, Honor Guard collecting donations for pets
MANATEE -- The Kirby Stewart Post 24 American Legion and the Honor Guard is helping support the Humana Society of Manatee County.
A barrel in the Post 24 entryway can be used for dropping off items of need to our "little friends," who at times are pushed to the side during the holiday season.
Volunteers helping volunteers is the name of the game and it is a year round labor of love. Thanks in advance to anyone who would like to make a difference.

Paradise Resource Center offers help in mastering aging
LONGBOAT KEY -- The National Council on Aging, in partnership with The Patterson Foundation, selected three organizations in Florida to provide the 10-week aging mastery program at the Aging in Paradise Resource Center, The Friendship Center and The Enrichment Center at Renaissance on 9th. "
The series covers such topics as health and wellness, exercise and mindfulness, sleep, advanced planning, financial fitness, medication management and community engagement.
Trustworthy Home Health Care is AIPRC's exclusive $3,000 sponsor of the National Council on Aging mastery program. Workshops run 10 consecutive Mondays starting at 10 a.m. Jan. 11.
Cost for all 10 workshops is $100. Presenters include medical doctors, an attorney, pharmacist, published authors, CEOs and other professionals.
Aging in Paradise Resource Center is at the Longboat Island Chapel, 6200 Gulf of Mexico Drive, Longboat Key. All programs and services are open to the community.
