Traffic fatality in East Manatee being investigated by Florida Highway Patrol

MANATEE -- A traffic fatality in the Heritage Harbour area of Manatee County just west of Interstate 75 on Sunday has created a partial roadblock at an intersection for more than six hours.

The accident occurred at Port Harbour Parkway and Cape Harbour Loop at 7:45 a.m., and Florida Highway Patrol troopers were still at the scene gathering facts at 1:45 p.m., an FHP dispatcher confirmed.

Authorities have not yet released any details about the traffic fatality, including the victim's identity, because next-of-kin has yet to be notified, the dispatcher said.
