Bradenton ranks below middle of pack in Best & Worst Cities for Florida Families rating

Personal finance website WalletHub conducted an in-depth analysis of 2015's Best & Worst Cities for Florida Families and Bradenton ranked No. 72 out of 115 cities.

With Thanksgiving bringing families together in the United States and Florida overtaking New York as the third-most populous state in December 2014 -- a large influx of in-movers to the Sunshine State in the past year included many families with children, WalletHub noted.

In order to help existing and prospective Florida families find the best cities in their state for putting down roots, WalletHub compared 115 cities across 21 key metrics ranging from housing affordability to school-system quality to cost of living.

No. 74: Percent of families with children younger than age 18.

No. 78: Median family income (cost of living-adjusted)

No. 76: Quality of school system

No. 59: High school graduation rate

No. 71: Violent crime rate per capita

No. 68: Housing affordability

No. 75: Percent of families below poverty level

No. 63: Unemployment rate

No. 76: Divorce rate.
