Sarasota man charged in connection with Sarasota, Manatee burglaries

SARASOTA -- A Sarasota man has been charged in connection with residential burglaries in Sarasota and Manatee counties, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office.

Ryan Robson, 37, was arrested at 12:03 p.m. Tuesday in the 1100 block of N. Washington Blvd., Sarasota. Tactical Unit deputies conducting a follow-up investigation Oct. 14 into a burglary at a home in the 2500 block of 57th Street, Sarasota, found a pawned lawn mower that had been stolen from the victim's carport, according to the release.

The victim reported being inside his residence when Robson entered his garage, stole his lawnmower and fled in a black Toyota Tacoma pickup truck.

Deputies reportedly followed Robson to a Manatee County home in the 4800 block of West Country Club Drive and watched as he stole several power tools from an open garage before driving to another pawn shop in Sarasota. When Robson exited the store, deputies took him into custody and he later admitted to both crimes, according to the report.

Robson was charged with burglary of an occupied dwelling, three counts of dealing in stolen property, three counts of fraud and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the sheriff's office. He was being held on $35,000 bond.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
