Runners revel in Ghost 5K in downtown Bradenton

BRADENTON -- Michael Lamb, a 26-year-old runner from Bradenton, posted the top 5K time of 17:18.4 to win the overall title Saturday at the Robinson Hearts and Minds races.

The second annual Ghost 5K in downtown Bradenton drew a record crowd of more than 250 competitors. Many dressed in Halloween costumes while running in perfect sunny, 80-degree weather.

The top female was 32-year-old Allzbeta Mikolaskova of Sarasota in a time of 21:21 finishing sixth overall.

The oldest competitor was Jack Jacobs, 76, Bradenton, who won the Veterans Division in a time of 35:30.

The oldest female winner was 71-year-old Veteran Division champ Linda Thomas of Bradenton in a time of 41:22.

The youngest boy was 6-year-old Reese McKay of Bradenton who finished third in the age 9 and under classification running 37:37.6.

The youngest girl competitor was 6-year-old Alexis Hutter, who finished second in the 9-under in a time of 34:03.9.
