Tickets for Stephen King/John Grisham event in Bradenton go on sale Thursday
When Stephen King spoke at the Manatee Performing Arts Center earlier this year, the tickets went to sponsors and there were almost none available for the general public.
In January, King and legal thriller author John Grisham will appear on stage together in Bradenton. They'll be in a much larger venue, so a limited number of individual tickets will be available.
Tickets will go on sale Thursday and they're expected to go quickly.
The event is "Book-Ends: An Evening with Two Literary Giants." The emphasis will be on Grisham, with King interviewing him on stage. It's scheduled for Jan. 19 at State College of Florida's Neel Performing Arts Center.
Tickets are $150 and there are a few ways to get them.
You can call 941-216-8746 or 941-718-7733. Leave your name and number and someone will call back.
You can stop by the Central Library, 1301 Barcarrota Ave., Bradenton, where tickets will be available only from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15 and Friday, Oct. 16.
You can also purchase tickets by filling out and mailing a form that will be posed on the Manatee Library Foundation's website (manateelibraryfoundation.org) on Thursday. You can't purchase tickets directly online, though.
"Book-Ends" is a fundraiser for the Manatee Library Foundation. The foundation hopes to raise $175,000 for its literacy programs.
