Bradenton man dies in fatal Interstate 75 crash in Manatee County, FHP says

A 22-year-old Bradenton man died early Friday after his SUV rear-ended another vehicle on Interstate 75 in Manatee County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 12:23 a.m. on northbound I-75 near mile marker 215, FHP said.

The Bradenton man was driving a Hyundai Kona north on Interstate 75 when it struck the rear of a Honda Civic traveling directly ahead of it, according to FHP.

After the collision, the Hyundai left the roadway, crossed the grass shoulder and struck a tree, troopers said.

The driver of the Hyundai was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Honda, a 22-year-old Parrish woman, and her 24-year-old passenger from Bradenton suffered minor injuries, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash remains under investigation.
