Where did Bradenton drivers get the most school zone tickets? What police say

Where are Bradenton drivers getting the most school zone speeding tickets? New police data points to a handful of campuses where violations piled up during the 2025-26 school year.

G.D. Rogers Garden-Bullock Elementary School recorded the most violations with 3,342, according to police. That accounted for more than 20% of the 15,866 speeding violations issued by the city’s school zone camera program during the school year.

Ballard Elementary School recorded 2,833 violations, followed by Sea Breeze Elementary School with 2,440, according to police.

“The ultimate goal of this program is to have zero violations issued, and we’ll continue to work toward that,” said Assistant Police Chief Brian Thiers. “We’ll continue to educate our community, and we’ll continue to run this program as long as we have speeders in school zones.”

Bradenton’s school zone camera program issued 15,866 speeding violations between Aug. 11 and Thursday morning, according to data provided by the Bradenton Police Department.

The cameras monitor speeds at 10 campuses across Bradenton during school zone enforcement hours. Drivers caught going more than 10 mph over the speed limit receive a $100 violation notice.

Police said more than 3,300 traffic citations were later issued to drivers who failed to respond to the camera violations during the school year.

Bradenton launched the camera program in late 2024 and has continued operating it after Manatee County ended its own school zone camera enforcement in 2025 following public criticism.

The school speed zone cameras will not operate during summer break, according to police.
