Motorworks Brewing faces eviction in $2 million foreclosure case, records say

Bradenton’s Motorworks Brewing could be evicted as part of a nearly $2 million foreclosure case, according to Manatee County Circuit Court documents.

The plaintiff, Seacoast National Bank, filed the foreclosure to claim roughly $1.9 million across four loans that Motorworks Brewing LLC and Princess T LLC borrowed, according to court records.

The Bradenton location at 1014 Ninth St. W. near LECOM Park features a beer garden, a stage for live music and entertainment, food trucks and 27,000 square feet of space.

The iconic beer garden stretches around a more than 150-year-old oak tree and has lawn games such as cornhole, giant Jenga and Connect Four, bocce and a big screen for event viewing.

Motoworks has brewed an assortment of award-winning craft beers since opening in 2014. The brewery’s ThaIPA and Headlight Lager won gold at the 2026 Best Florida Beer Championship.

Seacoast filed the lawsuit on May 21, seeking repayment of the loan’s principal, interest and late fees as well as asking the court to grant a deficiency judgment, order the property’s sale and evict the tenants.

A deficiency judgment holds the loan borrowers personally liable for repaying the debt if the property is sold for a total less than the total amount owed.

In March 2017, Motorworks owners Frank and Denise Tschida agreed to a $2.017 million mortgage loan with St. Petersburg-based Freedom Bank, which Seacoast acquired in 2020.

A second loan, totalling $780,000, was secured in November 2019. Two other loans were obtained in 2021 and 2022, according to court records.

Motorworks’ flagship location is in Bradenton, while additional taprooms are located in Tampa and the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport. The Orlando Business Journal reported the company closed its Orlando location on Tuesday.
