39-year-old woman killed in crash near State Road 64, Bradenton police say

A pedestrian died in a crash early Thursday morning near State Road 64, the Bradenton Police Department said.

Around 1 a.m., a 39-year-old woman in the roadway on 27th Street East was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound near Seventh Avenue East, police said in a social media post.

The pedestrian died at the scene, the police department said. Police have not publicly released the pedestrian’s name.

27th Street East, just south of State Road 64, was closed for several hours as part of the crash investigation, according to the police department.

“The driver remained on the scene, cooperated with officers, and was determined not to be at fault,” the police department said.

27th Street East was reopened by 5:30 a.m., according to the post.
