Bradenton man killed in crash with tree in Manatee County, FHP says

A 61-year-old Bradenton man died after his SUV crashed into a tree on Saturday afternoon in Manatee County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers say the wreck happened around 4:30 p.m. on Ninth Street East, near 51st Avenue East in the Bradenton area.

The Bradenton man was driving north on Ninth Street when he lost control of the SUV, FHP said.

Troopers say the vehicle veered right onto a grass shoulder, where it collided with a tree.

Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene of the crash, the agency said.

The crash remains under investigation, FHP said on Sunday.
