A GoFundMe has been created for a man who died in a car accident over the weekend, raising money for his family, who is now facing an “overwhelming” financial burden.

Jose Terrones, 39, was driving home to begin getting ready for work when he was in a car accident and died at the scene early Saturday morning, according to the fundraiser. The crash happened around 3:30 a.m. on First Street and the Bradenton Police Department temporarily closed the southbound lanes during the investigation.

“His sudden passing has left our family heartbroken and facing an uncertain future,” Bianca Perales, Terrones’s wife and creator of the GoFundMe, wrote in the fundraiser’s description. “He was the sole provider for our family, always working hard to pay the bills and make sure our children, his mother, and I were cared for.”

Perales also wrote that she is left to care for their two children and Terrones’s mother, “who requires dialysis treatment three times a week,” according to the fundraiser.

The donations will be used to help pay for Terrones’s funeral expenses, the family’s mortgage payments, the daily expenses of the children and Terrones’s mother’s medication and treatments, the fundraiser’s description says.

“Any support you can give would mean so much to us during this difficult time,” Perales wrote. “Your kindness will help us get through this loss and give our family a chance to heal.”

As of Tuesday evening, the GoFundMe has raised $850 toward its $2,200 goal.
