23-year-old man killed in Bradenton shooting, Manatee deputies say
Deputies have arrested a suspect in the fatal overnight shooting of a 23-year-old man in Bradenton, the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office said Sunday.
Chadrick Hunter, 46, is charged with second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a felon, the agency said.
The sheriff’s office identified the victim as Rickie Riddle III.
In an update on Sunday afternoon, the sheriff’s office said the men knew each other and were spending time at a Bradenton home with several other people just before the shooting.
Detectives have not determined why Hunter allegedly shot Riddle, the agency said.
Sheriff’s office investigates fatal Bradenton shooting
Around 3:45 a.m. Sunday morning, deputies responded to a report of a shooting at a home in the 1400 block of 34th Avenue East in the Bradenton area, the agency said.
There, deputies found Riddle injured and began life-saving efforts, but he died at the scene, the agency said.
The sheriff’s office said Sunday morning that detectives have identified everyone involved in the shooting.
“Detectives have determined this was not a random incident, and there is no current threat to the community,” the news release said.
The agency did not provide further details.
