Dump truck backed over pedestrian in fatal Parrish crash, FHP says
A 53-year-old Tampa resident died while helping a dump truck reverse into a construction area in Manatee County on Wednesday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
At around 12:07 p.m., the dump truck was backing into a construction area for a new subdivision at Diamond Reef Drive and Bella Mar Trail in Parrish, FHP said in a news release.
The individual fell while helping the dump truck reverse and was run over by the truck’s right-side tires, troopers say.
The Tampa resident was pronounced dead on the scene by Manatee County EMS, FHP said.
Troopers say the driver of the dump truck was a 46-year-old woman from Wesley Chapel.
The agency did not provide any additional details.
