Bradenton man killed crossing U.S. 41 in Manatee County, FHP says

A 74-year-old pedestrian died after a car hit him as he tried to cross U.S. 41 in Manatee County on Saturday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers say the incident happened around 9:48 p.m. as the Bradenton man attempted to cross the lanes of U.S. 41/14th Street West near 51st Avenue Drive West.

A car traveling south on U.S. 41 hit the Bradenton man, and he died at the scene, troopers said.

The car’s driver, a 24-year-old Palmetto woman, was uninjured, according to FHP.

The crash remains under investigation.
