Presidents Day in Manatee County: What to know about trash pickup, closures

Presidents Day is Monday, Feb. 16, and trash collection schedules, in addition other government services, will be affected.

In unincorporated Manatee County, waste and recycling collections for the week of Presidents Day will be postponed one day, from Tuesday through Saturday. On Monday, Feb. 23, regular collection will resume.

For residents in the city of Bradenton, trash and yard waste collection will be delayed by one day for Presidents Day. Monday’s collection will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 17, and Tuesday’s collection will happen on Wednesday, Feb. 18.

Government offices, libraries and post offices will be closed on Presidents Day in observance of the holiday. Manatee County Area Transit, including the Handy Bus and the Anna Maria Island Trolley, will operate as normal.

Parks, beaches and preserves in the county will remain open to the public over the holiday. Manatee County and Buffalo Creek Golf Courses will be open, as well.

G.T. Bray and John Marble Recreation Centers will be open with modified hours — from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
