How cold will it get in Bradenton this week? See the forecast

As Bradenton braces for another round of cold weather this week, local shelters are opening to help residents in need.

According to the National Weather Service, Monday night’s low will be 38 degrees with wind gusts as high as 32 mph, and Tuesday night’s low will be around 36 degrees.

A cold weather advisory will be in effect from midnight to 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan., 27.

Two cold weather shelters in Bradenton will open their doors “to help residents stay safe and warm,” according to a release from Manatee County Government.

Cold weather shelters open in Bradenton area

The Salvation Army, located at 1204 14th St. W., Bradenton, is one cold weather shelter opening its doors to Manatee County residents. Check-in for this location begins at 6 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 26, and Tuesday, Jan. 27.

A women-only cold-weather shelter will also be open at Under One Roof, 407 57th Ave. E., Bradenton. Doors there will open at 2:45 p.m., 15 minutes before the usual check-in time.

Manatee County Area Transit will provide transportation to both of these cold weather shelters. At 2:30 p.m., individuals can be transported to either shelter from Turning Points, located at 701 17th Ave. W., Bradenton.

“Turning Points also will be open to provide warmth and coffee during the cold weather,” the Manatee County release said.

Residents are encouraged to spread the word of these shelters to ensure that everyone in Manatee County has a safe place to stay during this cold weather advisory.
