UPDATE: The road has reopened as of 2:10 p.m. Wednesday, according to Manatee County Government.

Manatee County officials have closed a portion of 75th Street West on Wednesday afternoon due to possible gas main damage.

The emergency closure is in place along 75th Street West at 18th Avenue West and Estremadura Drive in the Bradenton area, according to a social media post by the county shortly before 1 p.m.

Manatee County wrote in the social media post that the possible damage is a result of new roadway construction in the area.

The county is advising those driving along this route to navigate around the closure by using 18th Avenue West to 59th Street West. Then, from 59th Street West, those who desire to return to 75th Street West can use 11th Avenue West.

The county asked drivers to “stay advised for further updates,” in its social media post.
