The Premier Sports Campus expansion project has an expected opening date.

According to county officials, the Premier Sports Campus North, which features Athletics & Aquatics Center, is on track to open to the public in September. The 44,000-square-foot facility will have a swimming pool, therapy pool, locker rooms and a geothermal yard, the Herald previously reported.

There are also 24 pickleball courts, including 14 shaded courts, a 166-vehicle parking lot and walking trails for the North campus.

The addition of the Premier Sports Campus North means East Manatee County swimmers won’t have to travel far for a swim facility and pickleballers will have another option for public play aside from G.T. Bray Park in Bradenton and Gov. Ron DeSantis Park just north of Tallevast Road.

Manatee County commissioners approved a construction contract for the new facility in December 2024.

Premier Sports Campus expansion to open in 2026

The original Premier Sports Campus, located at 5895 Post Blvd., becomes Premier Sports Campus South. That part of the facility will continue hosting large-scale sporting events on 23 outdoor fields, the Herald previously reported.

Schroder-Manatee Ranch first opened the 127-acre facility in 2011. Manatee County Government then purchased the property from SMR in 2017.

Manatee County recreation memberships

Construction on the North Campus began in January 2025. The facility will have reciprocal memberships with G.T. Bray Park and the John Marble Recreation Center.

Memberships are split into three tiers. The recreation membership costs $25 per month and includes the fitness center, basketball courts and more. The recreation plus membership, which includes the previous tier’s amenities, is $35 per month and adds group exercise classes and pickleball.

There’s also a $90 per month tennis membership that includes all amenities, plus clay court tennis at G.T. Bray Park.

There’s also the option to pay as you go. For example, pickleball at G.T. Bray is $5 for two hours of consecutive court time.
