How cold will it get in Manatee County this week? Forecasters issue warning
Forecasters are warning of very cold weather this week for Manatee County and Southwest Florida, including overnight wind chills below freezing.
“Wind chill is a term used to describe what the air temperature feels like to the human skin due to the combination of cold temperatures and winds blowing on exposed skin,” the National Weather Service says.
The coldest weather will take place between Monday night and Tuesday morning, when forecasters predict lows from the upper 30s in inland Manatee County to the low 40s along the coast.
A cold weather advisory is in effect for the entire county from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. Tuesday, when NWS forecasters say wind chills could dip as low as 25 degrees.
“Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat and gloves,” the agency’s cold advisory says.
