Motorcycle rider critically hurt in Manatee County crash, FHP says
A 28-year-old motorcyclist from Parrish was critically injured Sunday afternoon when a car turned into his path on State Road 64, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash happened around 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of River Heritage Boulevard and State Road 64 in Manatee County.
Investigators said a 75-year-old Bradenton woman driving a Toyota Corolla tried to turn left onto River Heritage Boulevard and entered the motorcyclist’s path. The man attempted to avoid the collision but struck the right side of the car, troopers said.
He was flown to HCA Florida Blake Hospital in critical condition, according to a news release.
The driver and her 73-year-old passenger, both from Bradenton, had minor injuries, according to the agency.
The crash remains under investigation, FHP said.
