Bradenton man charged with murder in fatal Manatee County stabbing
Police charged a Bradenton man with with murder following an investigation of a stabbing that left a woman dead.
Tampa police arrested Francisco Ramos-Moradel, 69, on Saturday in Hillsborough County, the Bradenton Police Department said in a news release.
Police said Ramos-Moradel faces a charge of second-degree murder in the recent deadly stabbing of 44-year-old Thania Fuenmayor in Bradenton.
On Sept. 28, Bradenton police responded to a minor crash in the 2100 block of Eighth Avenue East. There, police said they found Fuenmayor lying on the ground outside her SUV with severe stab wounds.
Police said she died at the scene despite lifesaving efforts.
Bradenton police detectives and the Manatee Homicide Investigation Unit conducted a murder investigation and found a knife and other items at the scene before identifying Ramos-Moradel as the suspect, the news release said.
Police said that Ramos-Moradel knew Fuenmayor and lives about two blocks from the crime scene in Bradenton.
On Saturday, Ramos-Moradel was in custody at a Hillsborough County jail until he could be transferred to Manatee County, the agency said.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
