Man found dead in SUV at South Skyway Fishing Pier in Manatee County, FHP says
Troopers found a 41-year-old man dead inside a parked SUV early Tuesday at the Skyway Fishing Pier in Manatee County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
FHP said they arrived around 4:20 a.m. on the south side of the pier, where they located the man in a Chevrolet SUV. He was alone in the vehicle, according to a news release.
FHP says the South Skyway Fishing Pier closed for several hours during the investigation but reopened around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Additional information, including a possible cause of death, was not immediately available Tuesday morning.
The investigation remains ongoing, FHP said.
