A Walmart Neighborhood Market is planned for Palmetto.

According to Manatee County building records, the store will be located at 6100 Buckeye Road in a future retail plaza off Artisan Lakes Parkway.

The shopping center, Artisan Palmetto Retail West, is anchored by a nearly 48,000-square-foot grocery store, according to building records. Walmart Neighborhood Markets are grocery stores that vary in size, but can be as large as 57,000 square feet, according to the company.

Building records show a Walmart liquor store is planned, too.

In addition to the Walmart Neighborhood Market and liquor store, the Artisan plaza will have room for 10 buildings with turn lanes added to the Artisan Lakes Parkway extension north of Buckeye Road, according to building records.

A construction and opening date have not been announced.
