The Labor Day holiday on Monday will cause changes to trash pickup schedules across Manatee County and closures of government office buildings.

But there will still be plenty of places to recreate throughout the county, including at public parks.

Here is how the holiday will impact government services.

Labor Day trash pickup changes

  • Trash, recycling and yard waste collection will not be collected on Monday and will shift forward one day in unincorporated Manatee County from Tuesday through Saturday. For example, Monday’s collection moves to Tuesday. Yard waste collection will move from Tuesday to Wednesday.
  • Solid waste pickup will be delayed by one day in the City of Bradenton for the remainder of the week after Labor Day.
  • Trash, recycling and yard waste collection for City of Palmetto residents will be postponed one day for the rest of the week until Saturday.

Manatee County office closures

  • Administrative offices for the City of Bradenton and the City of Palmetto will be closed on Monday. Both will reopen on Tuesday.
  • Manatee County offices, libraries and the landfill will be closed on Monday.

Public amenities

  • The Manatee County Area Transit fixed routes and Handy Bus will not run on Labor Day, but the Anna Maria Island Trolley will still operate.
  • Parks and beaches throughout Manatee County will remain open.
  • The Manatee County and Buffalo Creek Golf Courses will be open on Labor Day.
  • At G.T. Bray, the recreation center will be open from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the Walton Racquet Center will be closed, but accepting check-ins at the main building.
  • The Manatee County John Marble Recreation Center will be open from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
