Boat fire reported at downtown marina near Bradenton Riverwalk, police say

A boat caught fire at Bradenton’s Twin Dolphin Marina on Monday afternoon, prompting the partial closure of the Bradenton Riverwalk, police said.

The fire was reported around 1:30 p.m. near the Green Bridge, the Bradenton Police Department announced in a social media post. Officers and firefighters responded to the scene, leading to a temporary closure of the Riverwalk.

A police spokesperson told the Bradenton Herald the pedestrian walkway at the Riverwalk has since reopened.

Photos posted by the police department at 2:15 p.m. showed the fire appeared to be extinguished. Earlier images from the scene showed black plumes of smoke rising from a boat at the marina.

No injuries have been reported, and the cause of the fire remains unknown, investigators say. Police said more information will be released when available.
