Fourth of July in Manatee County: Road closures, trash pickup and more info
The Fourth of July holiday on Friday will cause some temporary road closures in Bradenton and Manatee County, including the Green Bridge.
It will also affect trash pickup schedules, mail and local government services.
Here’s what to know for Friday, July 4, 2025:
Road closures
- On Friday, the Green Bridge will close to car traffic at 8 p.m. and pedestrian traffic at 8:45 p.m. It will reopen at 10:30 p.m. following the fireworks show over the Manatee River.
- Riverside Park Boat Ramp and Riverside Park West in Palmetto will be closed from midnight on Friday, July 4, to midnight on Saturday, July 5.
- Riverside Drive (U.S. 41 to 10th Avenue West) will be closed from 8 a.m. on Friday, July 4, to 12 p.m. on Saturday, July 5.
- The Rossi Park parking lot near the splash park will be closed from 9 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. on July 4.
Trash pickup and mail
- Trash and pickups normally scheduled for Friday will instead occur on Friday in Bradenton, Palmetto and Manatee County. Regular collection schedules will resume Monday.
- Mail will not be delivered on Friday.
Local office closures
- Manatee County, Bradenton and Palmetto government offices will be closed on Friday, July 4.
- Manatee County libraries will be closed.
- County parks and beaches will be open.
There will be no Manatee County Area Transit (MCAT) fixed-route or Handy Bus service July 4. The Anna Maria Island Trolley will operate normal daily routes, and the Manatee Avenue Beach Express will operate on a holiday schedule.
