A driver hit a teenager running across the street to a bus stop Wednesday morning in Bradenton, police said.

The crash happened around 8:20 a.m. near the intersection of 15th Street East and 13th Avenue East, the Bradenton Police Department said in a social media post.

Police say the 15-year-old was crossing 15th Street East to reach a school bus stop when a southbound vehicle “clipped” the student. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officers, according to police.

Police said the teen was alert and stable when paramedics arrived. Emergency responders transported the teen to Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital with unspecified injuries.

BPD’s Traffic Unit is investigating the crash, the agency said.
