IMG Academy names replacement after football coach joined Belichick’s team
IMG Academy recently announced its new national team head football coach.
Greg Studrawa, who was a longtime college football assistant coach, replaces Billy Miller to lead the Ascenders’ national team.
Miller left IMG in January to join Bill Belichick’s staff at the University of North Carolina.
Studrawa is IMG’s sixth head coach in program history. The Ascenders’ first season was in 2013. Studrawa, an Ohio native, was an offensive coordinator for the Wrocław Panthers in the European League of Football in 2025. But for more than two decades, Studrawa was coaching college football at multiple schools, including stints with LSU under Les Miles and Ohio State under Urban Meyer and Ryan Day.
“Of all the roles I’ve been fortunate enough to be a part of in my decades-long coaching career, IMG Academy is easily the one I am most excited about and the one I feel I can bring the most value to,” Studrawa said in a news release.
The Ascenders went 7-2 last season, finishing 17th in the MaxPreps’ national rankings.

Studrawa, who was an offensive line coach in the college ranks, won a national title with LSU in 2007. He coached the Tigers from 2007-13, at Maryland from 2014-15 and Ohio State from 2016-21. Studrawa also coached at Bowling Green and Arkansas State before joining LSU.
“The IMG Academy National Football Team head coaching position is one of the premier coaching jobs in America, and Greg is the perfect candidate to lead our student-athletes on and off the field,” IMG Academy football director Kyle Brey said in a news release. “He brings a wealth of experience at the highest levels of college football, including national championship success that will benefit our student-athletes.”
Brey added, “We believe his championship mindset, deep recruiting connections, and commitment to providing an unrivaled experience for our student-athletes will elevate our program and continue our tradition of excellence on the national stage.”
