90-year-old Lakewood Ranch man killed in fatal State Road 70 crash, troopers say
A 90-year-old Lakewood Ranch man died after running a red light in Manatee County , troopers said.
Just before 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, a 33-year-old Bradenton woman was driving an SUV east on State Road 70 toward the intersection with River Club Boulevard when the man drove through the red light and hit the SUV, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The man suffered serious injuries and later died at a hospital, troopers said. The woman was not hurt in the crash, according to a crash report.
The crash is still under investigation. No further details about the crash were available as of Thursday afternoon.
