Bradenton-area temperatures dip ahead of major local event. When will it warm up?
A cold front is bringing chilly weather to Manatee County as organizers prepare for the Bradenton Area River Regatta, one of the largest local entertainment events of the year.
After temperatures hit a low of around 43 degrees Thursday night, temperatures on Friday are expected to reach a high near 69 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Friday’s low will be around 51 degrees.
But slightly warmer weekend weather could make a pleasant backdrop for the Bradenton Area River Regatta along the Manatee River in downtown Bradenton and Palmetto.
Saturday is expected to be partly sunny with a high near 73 degrees. The low will be around 58 degrees, according to the latest forecast.
The popular event kicks off at 5:15 p.m. Friday with live music and a drone and fireworks show. The fun continues at 10 a.m. Saturday with powerboat races, stunt dog shows and more.
Sunday will be partly sunny with a high near 72 degrees and a 20% chance of showers after 1 p.m. The low will be around 58 degrees with a 30% chance of showers overnight.
