25-year-old Myakka City man dies in motorcycle accident on State Road 70, troopers say
A 25-year-old Myakka City man was killed Thursday morning in a motorcycle crash in East Manatee County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Just before 7 a.m., the motorcyclist was heading west on State Road 70 when he tried to pass traffic and slammed into a Chevrolet Silverado that was making a left turn in front of him, troopers said.
The motorcyclist, whose name has not been publicly released, was thrown from the bike and died at the scene, according to a crash report. The Silverado driver suffered minor injuries, according to troopers.
The crash is still under investigation, troopers said.
No further details were available Thursday morning.
