63-year-old pedestrian killed in Manatee County crash, Florida Highway Patrol says

A pedestrian died after he was hit by an SUV on Saturday night in Manatee County, Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash happened around 7:20 p.m. on U.S. 41 (14th Street West) north of 69th Avenue West in Bradenton, the agency said.

Troopers say a 63-year-old man from Omaha, Neb., was walking east across U.S. 41 when he was hit by an SUV driving in the middle southbound lane.

The man was taken to a local hospital but died from his injuries, troopers said.

The driver of the SUV, a 33-year-old Bradenton man, was uninjured, the agency said.

The crash remained under investigation on Sunday, FHP said.
