A new Bradenton-area indoor pickleball facility is ready to open. Here’s what to know
Manatee County’s newest indoor pickleball facility is set to open Friday just 10 months after announcing its initial plans.
Dill Dinkers, an indoor pickleball franchise that started in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions, is opening its doors in Florida for the first time with a location near the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport.
Dill Dinkers SRQ is in a 27,000-square-foot building at 500 Tallevast Road, Suite 110, Sarasota. There are 11 full courts and one court that is half regulation size and half for dinking and drills.
Pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in America, according to USA Pickleball. There are also several public parks to play the sport and more are on the way.
Heather and Tim Dull announced in March 2024 their plans to franchise Dill Dinkers for the area, with a plan to open the first location by late 2024 or early 2025.
Despite delays from Hurricanes Helene and Milton and the previous tenants taking a little longer to vacate, the area’s newest indoor pickleball facility is ready to open.
“It was arduous, but it was a labor of love,” Heather Dull said.
To commemorate the soft opening, Dill Dinkers SRQ is holding free play from Friday through Tuesday, Jan. 14. To get a spot, players have to download the Court Reserve app or visit www.CourtReserve.com. Register an account and join Dill Dinkers SRQ as the club, then book a time to play.
After Tuesday, there is a $450 annual membership fee and court fees are $32 per hour for members. That court fee breaks down to $8 per person for doubles and $16 for singles. Non-members have a $64 per hour court fee.
Dill Dinkers SRQ is open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
