Crash that flipped SUV kills Myakka City woman in East Manatee County, FHP says

A 54-year-old Myakka City woman died in a crash in East Manatee County on Friday, Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.

The wreck happened around 5:40 p.m. on Clay Gully Road near County Line Road, in the Mykka City area south of State Road 70, according to FHP.

Troopers say the Myakka City woman was driving west when she lost control of her SUV at a curve in the road.

The SUV went off the road and overturned, FHP said.

Emergency responders pronounced the woman dead at the scene.

She was not wearing a seat belt, according to the agency.

The crash remained under investigation over the weekend.
